The Pearl of Naples Bay

Arrival in Sorrento, dinner and overnight.

Breakfast in the hotel. Meeting with the guide and departure for Naples. Visit of the city: Archaeological Museum, (one of the most important Museums in Europe), Maschio Angioino, Royal Palace (the new residence of the Spanish viceroys), the Cathedral, St. Charles Theatre, Umberto I° Gallery and St. Chiara Cloister. In the afternoon excursion to Vesuvius Volcano. It is the most famous Volcano of the earth, the only active and one of the most dangerous of the Continental Europe. It is a typical example of fence volcano formed by an outer truncated cone, Monte Somma (1133 metres) with a  crater wall mostly demolished within which is located a smaller cone represented by Vesuvius Volcano (1281 metres). They are separated by a trough named Giant Valley , part of the ancient caldera, where afterwards, supposedly during the eruption of 79 A.C., The Great Cone or Vesuvius formed. Visit with the mountain guide. In the afternoon, return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.

Breakfast in the hotel, boarding and departure for Capri island. Arrival in Marina Piccola and tour of the island in scenic minibuses with some stops in Capri and Anacapri. Optional visit of Axel Munthe Villa or Monte Solaro, then proceed for the centre of Capri with the visit of the famous “Piazzetta” and Augustus’ Gardens. In the afternoon, return to Sorrento, dinner and overnight.

Breakfast in the hotel and departure for Naples. In the morning visit of  the “City of Science” with its scientific and technical laboratories. At the end transfer to the train station or departure for the return.
